I’m Emma Barnett. I’ve been married to my best friend since 2016 and together we have two sweet babies, Compton and Corrie! A few of our greatest joys: being at home with our kids, serving in our local church, and being on the lake with our friends and family! I’ve been serving at The Girls Retreat since 2015 and it honestly gets better every year! It is such a sweet time of fellowship with others and learning more about God’s Word. I also love serving alongside some of my closest friends; it is truly such a blast and I’m so thankful to be a part of it. I am Lead Organizer, so I plan the weekend start to finish and am head of our lead team. I make sure that the teachers, the small groups, and the lessons are all Gospel-driven and doctrinally sound. Discipleship is something I am passionate about, so this weekend is very special to me. Ultimately, we want God to be glorified, the Gospel to be shared, and long-lasting friendships to be formed. I’m married to my best friend Clayton & we live in Lewisburg, MS with our pup Red and our sweet babies Shepard and Scottie! I’m a lover of ice cream, fall time, caramel macchiatos & anything white chocolate! I attended the girls retreat from 2015-2017 as a student, and then began leading in 2018. Since then, I have served as leader/organizer/teacher! I’m the girl who contacts small group leaders & prepares them for what is expected of them! My mom started this event when I was a freshman in high school. Who would’ve thought at the time that it would turn into something that I look forward to every year?! This weekend holds a very special place in my heart. I am blessed with the most precious family, especially my 19 beautiful grandkids! I have a great desire to serve, teach, encourage, love on and invest in teenage girls. I run a small school for junior and senior high students and I love what I do. I started The Girls Retreat in 2015 to help create a place where girls could come and learn more about Jesus, make good, encouraging friendships and see older ladies willing to invest in the students. I’m so thankful to see how this has grown and I am so proud of my daughters who have the same desire and who have stepped up to continue this ministry.
